When are you considered too old to join as a Graduate with the Big 4 of Accountancy Firms?

with one comment

I am going to do a Post-graduate in Accountancy and finish at the age of 28.

I spent nearly two and a half years doing complusory national service for my country and three years doing my undergraduate degree.

The rest of my time was divided between trying to gain employment(Nearly a full year) and working(no career but trying out many jobs). I was unfortunate to do an undergraduate degree with little real world practical application.

Anyway, I wasted a lot of time and I know it is a bit late to be starting out on my professional career.

But my question is "Is it too late at the age of 28" with the kind of history I have?

And on a seperate note, would it be better for me to gain employment with a company in the financial/banking services in a junior capacity and study the same course part-time even if it means I will take longer to complete my course and have less time for study?

I hope someone with the relevant professional experience can help me with some advice.

Age should not be a problem!
