Despite having a college degree, my work experience isn’t that great. I feel that I would only be able to get a data entry/clerical job at the moment. However, many require extra skills/education that I don’t have. I’m considering a staffing agency, but have heard so many bad things. Does anyone know if you can get a quality data entry/clerical job through a staffing service? Or are they mostly just worthless?

In my opinion, admittedly as a graduate in the UK, there’s both good and bad agency work. On the plus side you can leave at any time. Even if the work/pay is bad you gain some experience and earn some money - and it seems easier to find a decent job once you’re already working.

Plus I’m sure you’ll learn lots of things they didn’t teach you at college !

I am thinking of moving to Tucson and a friend who lives there said there weren’t many jobs but he doesnt know for sure about clerical work.

The econonmy in Tucson is so bad. The cost of living is low here sure but the people here are awful. The crime rate is above the country’s average. If you don’t beleive me check these links below out for the people who live here. I moved her 5 months ago and already have a rental truck reserved to move out and I live in the good part of town.

yes dear coz its a govt jobb….u shud prefer this….& there is noo ned to worry abt future,,,coz promotions r there…..bt in private jobs u can b sued…!!!

I’ve heard some people say,
"They think it’s beneath them."

but I’ve seen men work dirtier jobs.
I’ve seen men flip burgers at McDonald’s.

How can a clean office job be beneath their dignity, but yet they are willing to flip burgers at McDonald’s?
That doesn’t make sense.

So why are there very few men who are interested in clerical positions such as
an administrative assistant,
or a secretary.

Not really but it’s custom that women do those jobs. It’s like how nobody thinks of a nurse as a man. You automatically think of women.
