Are there any ‘LEGITIMATE’ at-home typing or customer service jobs?

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

I, like many, am looking for an at-home based job. There are so many websites pertaining to
this but still unable to find a legitimate website for a typing or customer service type job. Has
anyone had any luck in this area. If so, your guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I always get disappointed in the ridiculous amount of spam answers that I see when I come across these questions, so let me actually HELP you answer this one.

Yes, there are legitimate at home based jobs. And, if you’re looking for customer service jobs, there are plenty of them available through a variety of companies across the USA (and these are all telecommute jobs aka work at home positions that I’m talking about).

There is a free list of these companies at http://www.freeathomejobs.net/companies.html

You should be able to find exactly what you need there.

One thing I do want to mention though - be patient when submitting resumes to these companies. It may take some time to hear back from them, just because they receive a high volume of applicants. Don’t let it slow you down though!

Hope this helps, and good luck with your job search!

what does each one mean?
INBOUND CUSTOMER SERVICE.OUTBOUND CUSTOMER SERVICE.
trying to figure out what each of these call center job positions require you to do.

Inbound would be where you answer calls coming into the company and assist the customer according to their needs. Outbound would be calling out to customers who have requested assistance via email, voicemail, or other methods.

Why do they outsource customer service jobs to other countries like Latin America and India?

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

Granted it is to save costs, but rather customer services jobs where it requires you to speak fluent English to customers rather service jobs that do not require English. Especially Dell, where i have heard nothing but complaints about the customer service when you have to repeat something ten times or a whole lot of mis-communication.
Yes, I know to save money and people will work for cheaper, but how much is a customer service job here in the states? I have seen people do telemarketing for close to minimum wage. You can’t tell me that people in India are working for less than that? I have heard a lot of them are college educated. Doesn’t make sense.

Whatever you say, the Latins and the Indians are the best and that’s why all big companies move their CS there.

Is it possible for a person to get a customer service job without customer service experience?

Monday, April 19th, 2010

I’ve had several jobs in the past though none of them have really involved dealing directly with the public, but now I’m looking for a new job and as I look through the newspapers and the various job internet sites, I see that about 99% of the jobs out there are customer service jobs. Do you think someone like me who has little to no customer service experience would be wasting their time applying to any of these jobs?

of course, u have to start somewhere. just try to play up any human interaction youve had in ur other jobs www.asklorin.com is a cool advice website you can ask there and then check back for her answer

Skin and Bone at Barnes and Noble

Crime Drama DVD - Male escorts for homosexual clients ply their trade to tragic result in this semi-experimental and disturbingly violent film. Much of the narrative centers on handsome Harry, an aspiring actor and professed heterosexual who has been working for the High Noon escort service for many years. As an ‘escort’ he specializes in gay fetishes. In one of the more graphic sex scenes, he allows a producer to exploit his body in order to win a small part on cop-show. Harry also takes time to show Dean, a new recruit at the service how to satisfy customers‘ fantasies. Dean loves his new job and takes to it most naturally. Then there is Harry’s other student, Billy, the classic surfer boy. One night Billy mistakes a fellow in a car for a client and rides off with him. For the young escort it’s love at first sight, but unfortunately he ends up beaten to death by gay bashers. An investigation reveals that the madam at the High Noon may be responsible. In the end, Harry too meets tragedy when he participates in a ’snuff ‘ film.. Unfortunately for Harry his scene is real and the ensuing gratuitous violence may be highly offensive and upsetting for some viewers. - Skin and Bone at Barnes and Noble
