Good Human Resource-type jobs for a college student?

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

I am in college right now, getting a Bachelors degree in business/psychology. I want to go into the field of Human Resources after college, and I am trying to make myself as marketable as possible in the mean time. Right now I work at a full-service carwash, which has absolutely no relevance to the field of HR, so I am looking to get an entry level, part-time job (no experience required) that will give me some experience doing things I will be doing as an HR. Any suggestions?

careers.scienceontheweb.net - I found such internship info here. It has lots of internships, job openings and scolarships for college students.

How can I get a Human Resources job with an Associates in Business Administration?

Monday, June 14th, 2010

I am currently working for an HR services firm but there seems to be a glass ceiling for me. I am currently a participant services representative (customer service with some administrative duties).
I am attending the University of Texas at Arlington in August for a Bachelors in BA/ Human Resources. Please help me find my footing.

You are in the right track. Also invest in reading books/articles, attend trainings/seminars/conferences, have an OJT, request mentoring, etc to enhance your skills and knowledge.

human resources opportunities jobs?

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

I’m thinking to take human resources as major in business, but how about opportunities jobs and salary?

i would like to read your opinion

thank you in advance

There are a lot of opportunities. The pay goes up the higher up and larger an organization is. What you will want to do is figure what you like doing then see what particular aspect of HR meets that. If not that then try to think of something else. One way to discover this is to read HR job descriptions and see if those things interest you. I hope this helps and wish you all the best in your chosen field. Good luck
