I’m apply for work and I’ve had minimal luck and I don’t want to return to an agency since I’m trying to find part-time jobs and agencies usually specialize in full-time. Maybe I’ve had bad luck since I’m putting the location in which the agency had me working at. Should I use the agency itself as my last employer or the place they had me working?

If the agency paid you then they were your employer regardless of where you actually performed the work.

If are performing services for a well-known business you may wish to include that. I worked for Manpower a number of years ago but performed the services at IBM. I show that job as "Manpower @ IBM" so that a prospective employer has a sense of what the job entailed.

Was offered a job, they told me it was £7 an hour. I start the job, they send me the paperwork after and I it says i’m £6.20 an hour. I ask why and they said that the £7 included holiday pay. They didn’t tell me this over the phone. Ive worked through over 10 agencies before and never have they done this. Surely they should have said on the phone it included holiday pay??

I am in the process of trying to find a new job. Right now I am in purchasing/administration. I have a bachelor of science degree in marketing and would like to find a job in a related field. More specifically, I would like to work at Bloomberg. So if you know of a recruiting agency that works with that company or field of work please let me know.

People finder’s plus has jobs at Macy’s and I don’t know where else, but it looks like they have helped a lot of people.

I am in the same situation you are in. I would love to find out which agencies have jobs and which ones are scams or have no jobs. It seems like a gigantic challenge and if I could just get rid of all the garbage places it would be a lot easier. Good luck to you.

I need a job agency where they will actually get you a job quick. I dealt with AppleOne and they are garbage. They never called me for a job not even once which is really sad because I thought these people are supposed to help you. Anyway any recommendations would be great! Thanks

Maybe you have heard on the news that we have double-digit unemployment. NOBODY is getting a job quick.

If you use a temp agency for work, YOU have to call THEM daily to ask about jobs. If you wait for them to call you, you are going to be passed over by the people who are calling every day. Get with as many agencies as you can, and stay on the phone. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
