Why is it that some job postings require the applicants to be U.S citizens?
I am a permanent U.S resident and I’ve been looking for a position related to my field (computer science) here in the U.S; however, I’ve noticed that in several job postings they ask for U.S citizens candidates(only). While I am aware that some governmental and military positions require that, I don’t understand why other "mundane" positions ask for it. is it that they fear the applicants’ grasp of the English language is not good? Cross-cultural differences?, Racism?
employers are not allowed to only hire US citizens unless the position is related to government clearance/security. Although, the company appears "mundane", the specific projects require the same government clearance the goverment/military jobs require.
